William G. 'Willie' McCammack

William G. "Willie" McCammack, 79, of Greencastle, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014.

He was born on Sept. 12, 1934 in Putnam County to Herman McCammack and Irene Wilson McCammack.

Willie was a graduate of Greencastle High School and was retired from Lone Star with 41 years of service.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother; his father; his mother; and stepfather, Chuck Rogers.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Maxine McCammack; three children, Randy McCammack and wife Joy of Crawfordsville, Rodney McCammack of Greencastle and Trudy Dickerson and husband Ron of Crawfordsville; two brothers, Lowell McCammack and wife Patsy of Bainbridge and Richard McCammack and wife Nancy of Greencastle; a half-brother, Ron McCammack and wife Pat of Florida; a half-sister, Bertha Jenkins of Alabama; brother-in-law, Mike Goodpaster and wife Trudy of Fillmore; four grandchildren, Adam McCammack of Centerpoint, Rachael Thomas and husband Shane of Greencastle, Amanda Prunkard and husband Jason of Tennessee and Michelle Beller and husband Grant of Danville; and six great-grandchildren, Cauy Thomas, Trace Thomas, Erin Thomas, Lilly Beller, Ivy Beller and Nathan Prunkard.

Willie enjoyed fishing and hunting as well as collecting toy trucks, tractors and coins, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He would travel the yard on his Kubota tractor enjoying the great outdoors.

A celebration of Willie's life will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
