Park Dept. to sponsor disc golf event March 22

The Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor "Putt for Prizes," a disc golf event for all ages and skill levels, on Saturday, March 22 at Big Walnut Sports Park.

Putt for Prizes is not a tournament, and not a lesson but a fun event for all to come out and see what disc golf is all about.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. The event ends at noon The cost to play is $5 per person.

Don't have the equipment? Never played before? Didn't know there was a course in town? Just want get out and have some fun and maybe get a prize?

Putt for Prizes can answer those questions. Participants will stop at the shelterhouse on the south side of Big Walnut Sports Park to register each player and get a scorecard.

Discs are available on loan, and there is practice tee to get players started.

After that, play the nine holes, keep score if you want, and at the end, there will be a prize for each registered player. The Park Department has secured donations from area businesses, a few disc golf supplies, items from the Parks Department and more.
