Public information meeting on U.S. 40 Brazil project Tuesday

BRAZIL -- The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will conduct a public information meeting on the U.S. 40 project in on Tuesday, March 18.

INDOT and Gradex Inc. project personnel will discuss project details and the construction schedule during a 6:30 p.m. meeting in the council room at Brazil City Hall, 203 E. National Ave.

The U.S. 40 pavement replacement project was awarded to Gradex Inc. for $19.7 million. Construction will begin in early April.

The project will replace pavement on U.S. 40 from State Road 340 to Walmart and on State Road 340 from Waterworks to U.S. 40.

Drainage will be improved with new storm drainage structures, curbs and gutters. New sidewalks will be constructed with ADA-compliant curb ramps throughout the project.

The project is due to be completed by Nov. 15, 2015.
