Clark gas station closed, for now

Thursday, March 20, 2014
The Clark gas station has officially closed its doors, for now. The Greencastle gas station may or may not open again as owners Amy Heller and Shah Shoaib focus efforts on their other businesses, Green Apple Frogurt in Greencastle and the downtown Marathon gas station in Cloverdale. The future of Clark gas station is undecided.

As Green Apple Frogurt re-opens to keep Greencastle cool, the Clark gas station at 404 E. Washington Street has closed its doors, at least for now.

Amy Heller and Shah Shoaib own the Clark gas station and Green Apple Frogurt in Greencastle, as well as the Marathon gas station in downtown Cloverdale.

"No matter what business you're into, you have to be involved," Heller acknowledged.

With only two people running three businesses, it isn't difficult to see that time is going to be in short supply for one of those businesses, a fact that contributed to the decision to close Clark station, located across Locus street just east of Green Apple Frogurt.

The station is also in need of renovations that simply require too much time, money and effort for the owners at the moment.

"The pumps are old, they need to be renovated," Heller explained.

But even with the doors closed, they have not made any decisions on exactly what is in the future for Clark station.

"We'll see what's going to happen to it," said Heller.
