Yard waste site set to open April 2

The Greencastle-Putnam County yard waste site, sponsored by West Central Solid Waste District, will open for the season on Wednesday, April 2.

Drop-off materials include grass clippings, twigs, branches, leaves and other organic yard waste.

Fees may apply. Cash and checks are accepted.

Businesses are prohibited from using the site.

For more information, persons may call 653-6699 or visit the site on County Road 200 South off South Jackson Street (Manhattan Road), then past the Putnam County Highway Department and the DePauw University Prindle Institute.

The site is open on Mondays from 2-6 p.m., Wednesdays noon-6 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m-4 p.m. It is closed on holidays.

  • The road is Sunset Drive or 300 South (Torr Road) from Jackson St. or Manhattan Road, respectively. There is no 200 South intersecting Jackson St. Or Manhattan Road.
