Good Agriculture Practices workshop set for April 4

There will be training for GAPs or Good Agricultural Practices on April 4 at the Vigo County Fairgrounds.

This program should be of interest to current and prospective fruit and vegetable farmers and market gardeners as well as managers of community gardens that distribute produce to the public.

Participants will learn about fresh fruit and vegetable safety, learn from experts how to document and keep records, network with other farmers and learn about their practices, network with others who are interested in the production of quality Indiana vegetables, learn how to develop your own food safety plan, learn about resources that are available to help you continue your study and to solve problems after the workshop.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. The $30 registration fee is due at the door. An additional $10 will be charged for additional participants from the same farm.
