Tuesday, April 1, 2014

After going 3-1 last week, including 14 scoreless innings against Allegheny, junior pitcher Kahla Nolan (West Chicago, Ill./Wheaton North) was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.

Nolan defeated 23rd-ranked Washington University (Mo.) early in the week and capped off her successful stretch with two wins over Kenyon in the Tigers' NCAC opening series.

She also picked up a save against Illinois College after throwing three innings in relief.

In 32 total innings of work, Nolan held opponents to a .224 batting average, struck out 21 batters and allowed just nine runs, posting a 1.97 ERA.

Nolan and the Tigers picked up two more wins on Tuesday at Denison, winning a pair of one-run affairs over the Big Red, 4-3 and 3-2. Nolan is 10-6 after the two most recent wins and has helped the Tigers grab an early lead in the NCAC.

DePauw is 13-9 on the season.
