Alaska Christian Church plans Easter week

QUINCY -- The 178-year-old Alaska Christian Church located at 7230 Lewisville Rd. near Quincy and west of the old Lewisville Store has announced Easter activities.

Palm Sunday celebration worship is set for 10:47 a.m. on Sunday, April 13.

Maundy Thursday service will take place at 7:30 p.m. on April 17 with serving of the Lord's Supper. The service last approximately 30 minutes, featuring scripture by various men of the church and hymns of the time.

Easter Sunday service will feature a number of services.

Mini sunrise service will begin at 9:43 a.m. in the church yard or in the Worship Center in case of inclement weather.

Ann all-Church/Community Easter breakfast served by the men will feature egg casseroles, biscuits and gravy, pastries, fruits, juices and Coffee at 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall.

Celebration Easter Sunday blended worship is set for 10:47 a.m., featuring the hymns of Easter, special music by the Praise Team and sermon by Preaching Minister Kevin Short.

A special Kidz Worship service will begin at the same time featuring a large Easter Egg Hunt on the lawn (or in the fellowship hall). It is open to kids up to middle school age.

The church puts out a welcome to everyone in the community to worship with them on this special day.
