Tiger women sixth, men 10th in DePauw Invitational

Women's

Led by three scorers in the 5,000-meter run, DePauw totaled 69.5 points and finished sixth at the DePauw Invitational at Blackstock Stadium.

Bethel (Ind.) won with 145 points, while Taylor was second with 136 and St. Joseph's (Ind.) third with 129.

Heather O'Brien won the 5,000 meters in 18:00.31 with Siri Retrum in third at 18:16.08 and Ashley Guevara sixth in 18:50.45.

Celia Kauth was a second-place finisher in the high jump with a best leap of 5-00.25 (1.53 meters) and Meghan Burke was third in the triple jump at 32-11.75 (10.05 meters).

Burke also was fourth in the 100 hurdles in 15.91 seconds with Ellie Sheffield finishing in sixth in the event with a time of 16.64.

The Tigers totaled eight points in the 1500 meters with Emma MAcAnally placing fourth in 5:04.21 and Katie Doron coming in sixth in 5:05.17.

Tiernan Shank finished fifth in the 400 meters in 1:01.20 with Jillian Balser tying for fifth in the pole vault at 10-6 (3.20 meters).

Maggie Royalty scored in two events as she was seventh in the 100 meters (12.98) and eighth in the long jump (15-6.25/4.73 meters) and Trina Manalo was seventh in the hammer throw with a best mark of 131-5 (40.07 meters).

Men's

Led by Kyle Mackey's pole vault performance, the Tigers totaled 25 points and finished 10th at the DePauw Invitational at Blackstock Stadium.

Vincennes won with 147.5 points, while Rose-Hulman was second with 108, Bethel (Ind.) third with 100.5 and Wabash fourth with 100.33.

Mackey cleared 15-7 (4.75 meters) to finish second in the pole vault. Paul Watts was third in the 5,000-meter run in 15:29.30, while Stu Newstat was right behind in fourth in 15:38.90.

Quinton Miller turned in a sixth-place showing in the 400 hurdles in 57.50 seconds with Brian Mincks placing seventh in the 800 meters in 1:58.80.

The Tigers' 4 x 100 relay was ninth in 44.85 seconds.

DePauw hosts the Indiana Division III Meet on Saturday, April 12, at 11 a.m.
