Greencastle Fire to host 14th annual golf scramble

With the 15th annual Greencastle Fire Department Golf Scramble set for Saturday, May 17, Carpenters Local 133 recently made a $1,000 donation to the effort, with union representatives Dave Wells (second from left) and Greg Tucker (left) presenting the check to GFD Engineer Jeff Elkins and Fire Chief Bill Newgent. The scramble, whose proceeds will be donated to the Hoosier Burn Camp, will take place at Windy Hill Country Club.

The Greencastle Fire Department will host its 15th annual golf scramble on Saturday, May 17 at the Windy Hill Country Club.

Two flights of competition are set with the first having registration at 7:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The second flight will begin at 2 p.m. with registration at 1:30 p.m. Play is limited to one flight per player.

Interested participants can pick up entry forms at Windy Hill and the Greencastle Fire Department. Entries are limited to the first 14 teams per flight.

Each team must include four players. Registration is $50 per player or $200 per team. Mulligans are $5 each, limited to two per player.

Prizes will be awarded for longest drive, closest to the pin and longest putt. There will be a $700 reward for the first-place team, $500 for second and $300 for third.

All proceeds will be donated to the Hoosier Burn Camp. To sponsor a hole it is $60 each or two for $100.

All checks should be made payable to the Friends of the Greencastle Fire Department.

Participants are asked to turn in team entry and hole sponsor forms to the Greencastle Fire Department located at 107 S. Indiana St.
