Friday, April 11, 2014

Seth Brown is a senior baseball player at Greencastle High School. He's 18, the oldest sibling of three sisters and a brother. His parents are Jeff Brown and Nicole Hubbell. Brown won his first game Wednesday, pitching 10 strikeouts in the Tiger Cubs' first win of the season against North Putnam.

He also added two RBIs, getting on base three times and scoring once in the 13-10 win over the Cougars.

Banner Graphic: What was different about going into this offseason being a senior as opposed to others?

Seth Brown: I got to the gym more. We worked out alot and did more fundamentals. That made the whole team better this offseason, not just me.

BG: What are your individual goals and your team goals this year?

SB: Individually, as a pitcher, I want to throw at least one no-hitter this season. I had two last year. As a team we want to win our sectional since we haven't won or sectional since the '90s.

BG: What can you learn about life from playing varsity baseball?

SB: It gives you a chance to see what brotherhood and teamwork can get you. It allows us all to work together and play hard. Our team has a lot of good chemistry. That's why we're so good.

BG: Who are some of your best friends on the team and why?

SB: That would be (senior) Holden King. I have played on his team since the sixth grade. Also (sophomore) Riley Cook. He's like my cousin so we are really close. It seems like we've played sports together my whole life.

BG: What are some of your athletic goals and acedemic goals after you graduate high school?

SB: I want to go to ISU. I'm going to major in business and I plan on walking on to the baseball team there.

BG: What kind of business would you want to become involved in and why?

SB: I like to where suits. I'm not sure what type of business yet.
