Melvin Ray Clodfelter

Melvin Ray Clodfelter, 74, of Rockville, passed away at his residence at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014.

He was born on Feb. 29, 1940 at Lafayette to Vance and Claral Thompson Clodfelter.

He married Ruby Dragoo on July 20, 1983 at Kingman, and she was formerly married to Leslie Robinson who passed away in 1982. She survives.

Other survivors are children David Clodfelter of Indianapolis, Julie A.(Mike) Igo of Lexington, Ky., Krista (Gary) Cooper of Plainfield, Cynthia (Richard) Hollingsworth of Danville, and Rebecca Richardson of Marshall; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Clodfelter of Indianapolis, and Terry Clodfelter of Greencastle; and one sister, Joyce Weaver of Indianapolis.

He was preceded by one daughter and his parents.

He was a member of the Russellville Community Church, and teacher and adviser of FFA, leader of the 4-H in Parke County, and Indiana State Teacher Association.

He graduated high dchool and then from Purdue University where he received his masters' degree. He was a retired school teacher.

Funeral services were held Thursday April 17 at Machledt and Servies Funeral, Waveland. Rev. Don Perry officiated with burial at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
