Area 30 students earn high marks at HOSA conference
Twenty-one students from the Area 30 Career Center recently took part in the Indiana State Leadership conference for Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA).
Students from Health Careers, CNA and EMT classes spent two nights and three days at the Sheraton Hotel at Keystone at the Crossing in Indianapolis competing with more than 600 students from other career centers throughout Indiana.
Competitive event areas included Creative Problem Solving, Job Seeking Skills, Health Education, Extemporaneous Health Poster, Extemporaneous Speaking, Medical Reading, EMT, Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aid Skills. Students also competed by taking knowledge tests on Nutrition, Growth and Development, Pathophysiology, Medical Terminology, Medical Math, Medical Spelling and Pharmacology.
