CRAWFORDSVILLE -- The Cougar golfers faced Crawfordsville and county foe Greencastle in a three-way meet at Crawfordsville Municipal course on Tuesday.

With one of the better golfing days in some time, with the course being in good shape, playing the sand traps, and playing the ball down, the Cougars just couldn't find the shots to win over Greencastle. Shooting a 174, the highest team score for the season for the Cougars. The players are going back to the drawing board and try to fix quickly their errors before the WCC on Saturday.

Greencastle managed to come out ahead by carding a 159 while Crawfordsville shot a 184. Medalist for the meet was Alec Davis from Greencastle shooting a 36.

Mason Asher again came in strong for the second night in a row with a 42, managing to hit seven fairways, six greens in regulation, and 16 putts.

Ben Hazelgrove shot his consistent 43, managing to gain four pars for the night and 16 putts but dealt with some scrambling around the hole to get par.

Austin Judy also had 4 pars but struggled to gain greens in regulation and higher than normal putts, carding him with a 44. Jake Smith struggled with too many bogies and double bogies but managed to shoot a 45 due to low putting numbers.

Jake Holtze had great numbers for fairways and greens in regulation but high putting numbers kept him at a 45.

The Cougars will head to Deer Creek on Saturday, May 10, to play in the WCC conference.
