Clean-Up Day set for Saturday in Greencastle

Greencastle's annual Community Clean-Up Day is set for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 17.

Co-workers, friends and families are asked to assemble at City Hall, 1 N. Locust St., to be assigned an area to clean up. Trash bags, gloves and even breakfast will be provided.

Once persons are done cleaning up their designated area, they can drop off their trash bags at City Hall.

The business or organization that brings the most volunteers will win the Community Clean-Up Day Traveling Plaque, while the elementary school class that gets the most students involved will win a pizza party.

The annual event is sponsored by the Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce, Greencastle Civic League and the City of Greencastle, along with the Walmart superstore and Culligan Water of Putnam County.
