Greencastle woman arrested for sexual misconduct with a minor

A Greencastle woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon on a Putnam County warrant for allegedly engaging in sexual relations with a 14-year-old family friend.

At around 2 p.m., Indiana State Police arrested Ashley K. Waller at her home.

The 21-year-old was charged with one count of sexual misconduct with a minor and taken to the Putnam County Jail.

On or about March 22, Waller is believed to have engaged in sexual relations with a 14-year-old male friend of the family.

The acts are alleged to have occurred in Waller's Greencastle apartment.

ISP was made aware of the allegations by Putnam County Department of Child Services, which received a tip from a relative of the victim.

The case was investigated by ISP Trooper Don Curtis. Assisting were ISP Detective Sam Stearley and troopers Mike Wood and James Crisp, along with the Putnam County Department of Child Services.
