Clyde Richard 'Dick' Gaddis

Clyde Richard Gaddis, 83, of Cloverdale passed away Thursday May 22, 2014.

He was born Nov. 7, 1930 in Lawrence, the son of Clyde and Bess Gaddis, both deceased.

He was married to Irene "Faye" Gaddis and she survives.

In addition to his wife he is survived by daughters Terry (Gaddis) Monnett and husband Dana and Lisa (Schroer) Mendenhall and husband Dale; sons Scott Gaddis and wife Tina and Rob Schroer and wife Jody; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers Duane and Debbie Gaddis, Jay and Karen Gaddis and Marcel and Rita Gaddis; sister Judy McGaughey; sister-in-law Phyllis Gaddis; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of Owen Valley. He retired from IYC, Plainfield, in 1975 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Scottish Rite of Terre Haute, and Masonic Lodge of Cloverdale, Cloverdale American Legion and several other organizations.

After retiring he had managed a bait shop and grocery store. He loved fishing, hunting, watching football and model trains.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Brad Gaddis, brothers Keith Gaddis and infant Donald Gaddis.

Services will be Friday May 30 at 11 am at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday May 29 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cloverdale Cemetery.
