Celebrate 4, a committee of citizens working with the Greencastle Friends of the Park Association, is giving Putnam County citizens an earlier opportunity to contribute toward the cost of staging the annual Fourth of July celebration and fireworks show.

Cash, coins or checks are all welcome, and can be delivered to donation containers located at City Hall and the following local banking institutions: North Salem State Bank (Warren Drive), Old National Bank (North Indiana Street and Indianapolis Road) and Teachers Credit Union (Putnam Plaza).

Those banks are all prepared to accept citizen donations toward the 2014 Fourth of July celebration.

Thousands of citizens annually come to Robe-Ann Park on July 4, enjoying the activities, musicians, festival food and the fireworks show finale. The donation containers are intended to create awareness of their opportunity to take part in helping the Celebrate 4 Committee continue this July 4 community tradition.

There are also Red, White and Blue sponsorship opportunities, ranging from $1,000 to $500 to $250. Checks can be made out and mailed to: Celebrate 4, City Hall, P.O. Box 607, Greencastle, IN 46135.
