Two Putnam County performers in Vanity's 'Dr. Dolittle' cast

Jaycee Farris of Russellville is one of two Putnam County performers in the cast of "Dr. Dolittle," opening this weekend at the Vanity Theater in Crawfordsville.

CRAWFORDSVILLE -- The children's production of "Dr. Dolittle" opening this weekend at the Vanity Theater in Crawfordsville includes a pair of young Putnam County performers.

"Dr. Dolittle" opens this Friday and Saturday with a Sunday matinee and additional performances June 13-15.

Jaycee Farris and Arianna Osterhoudt are members of the cast from Putnam County. Jaycee lives in Russellville and Arianna lives in Roachdale.

Based on a book with the same name, "Dr. Dolittle" takes place in the small town of Puddleby, England.

With his faithful parrot Polynesia (Annee Clark), his devoted friend Matthew Mugg (Alex Hughes) and a menagerie of animals to support his story, the good Doctor Dolittle (Jordan Southwood) tries to convince everyone he can actually talk to animals.

The director, Preston Dildine, has been working in theater for years. He has directed numerous times at Myers Dinner Theater in Hillsboro and is an ISU theater graduate.

The cast also includes Caroline Bowling, Elizabeth Bowling, Thomas Bowling, Ali Brown, Kaitlyn Burkholder, Diego Cancela, Reyna Cancela, Isabella de Assis-Wilson, Eric Demoret, Hannah Demoret, Josh Demoret, Christa Fortney, Simon Galbert, Zoey Griffin, Harmon Hann, SaraJessica Hemmerlein, Paige Hudson, Gracie Hutchison, Ellen Laffoon, Brady Meyers, Brooklyn Mills, Gracie Norton, Jalyn Norton, Matt Perkins, Carrie Pool, Evie Redding Gwyn Redding, Morgan Ross, Marilla Samuelsen, Jada Smith, Yone Smith, Kristen Thompson, Beth Turner, Jesse Watson and Liam Weir.

Evening show times will be at 7:30 on June 6, 7, 13 and 14. Matinees will be at 2 p.m. Sundays, June 8 and 15.

The box office, located at 122 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday and one hour before performances.
