GMS eigth-grade essays 'amazing'

To the Editor:

The letters from Mrs. Gillespie's eighth-grade American History class at Greencastle Middle School (essays published in the Banner Graphic May 21) were amazing.

They touched on some important and controversial issues, and a couple I'd never thought about before.

I agreed with every subject. But whether one did or didn't, they were all issues to think about and discuss or take action on.

I wish we could've read all the letters but I know that wasn't possible.

Thank you to Mrs. Gillaspie and her students, and of course, Professor Jeff McCall. I'm so happy to see our students share their opinions.
