Dakota Watson gets new position of Greencastle boys' soccer coach

The GHS Athletic Department introduced Coach Cody Watson as the new Greencastle Tiger Cubs boys' soccer head coach for the fall 2014 season.

He was appointed on Monday, June 16 by the school board corporation.

Coach Watson will be replacing Dave Lilly who resigned to focus on his business commitments.

Watson has been the Tiger Cubs' assistant boys' soccer coach for the past three years and played for the Tiger Cubs as a member of the Greencastle High School varsity soccer team from 2007 to 2010.

This year Watson is a senior at DePauw University and will be graduating May of 2015.

Watson is eager for the challenge .

"I am greatly humbled by the opportunity to be the next head coach for the Greencastle High School Boys' Soccer Program. I look forward to working with the young men of our community to produce meaningful results on the field, in the classroom and in the community. We have a great group of boys in the program, and I hope you all can make it out to see them play this fall," Watson said.

Greencastle Athletic Director Greg Hill is happy to have an experienced local at the helm.

"We are always grateful to have a coach who knows our kids and understands the expectations of the Greencastle community.

"Coach Watson is a nice addition to our head coaching staff and I am confident we will continue to move our program forward," Hill said.
