Hameta 'Brownie' Rader Crooks

Hameta "Brownie" Rader Crooks, 91, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Hickory Creek Nursing Facility in Greencastle.

She was born May 11, 1923 in Clay County to William and Eunice Brown.

Hameta attended Brazil High School and retired from Angwell Curtain Co. in Greencastle.

She enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing and boating.

Brownie was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Maurice Rader and Samuel Crooks; brothers Victor Brown and William Brown Jr., and sisters Mary Draper, Faye Phillips and Susan Inel.

Survivors Include: a brother, Jack (Darlene) Brown, Knightsville; a half-brother, Pat (Lucille) Collins, Morrisburg, Tenn.; four sisters, Linda (Steve) Foster, Freedom, Janice VanBlarium, Indianapolis, and Marylan Brooks, Dana, and Brenda Vandergriff, both of Dana; many nieces, nephews and other family members.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Rick Fay officiating and burial to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle.

The family will accept friends on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
