County Jail

Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 4:40 p.m. on Friday, Jonas Anthony Vance, 44, Greencastle, was arrested on a probation violation.

At 6 p.m., Shawn Lee Glover, 42, Greencastle, was arrested for battery.

At 12:11 a.m., Sean Patrick McClamroch, 34, Waveland, was arrested on a probation violation.

* At 1:27 a.m. on Sunday, Shasta DeLaine Bradley, 27, Greencastle, was arrested for failure to appear.

At 12:30 p.m., Herbert Hucks Jr., 44, Evansville, was charged with failure to appear.

At 2:40 p.m., Anthony Michael Jones, 18, Greencastle, was arrested for domestic battery, invasion of privacy and possession of paraphernalia.

* At 2:40 p.m. on Monday, Jesse Dane Burris, 30, Greencastle, was arrested on a probation violation.

At 4:45 p.m., Benjamin Dalton, 29, Spencer, was arrested for driving on a suspended license.

City Police

Two recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

* At 1:56 a.m. Saturday, Michael DeWayne Grimes, 30, Greencastle, was arrested on the DePauw University campus by Officer Kyle Lee and lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

Grimes, who was charged with disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and public intoxication, registered a blood-alcohol level of .28 percent under portable breathalyzer, Lee reported.

* At 3:53 a.m. Saturday, Roger Kell, 26, Greencastle, was arrested at Country Place Apartments on Greencastle's South Side by Capt. Chris Jones.

Lodged in the Putnam County Jail, Kell is charged with possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia

One property-damage was investigated Saturday by city officers.

* At 12:27 p.m., a two-vehicle mishap occurred at Veterans Memorial Highway and Percy Julian Drive during a heavy rainstorm.

Betty Gibson, 76, Greencastle, was northbound, crossing Veterans Highway in a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu after stopping at the stopsign when her car was struck by a 2007 Honda Civic, driven by Rusty Quigley, 33, Brazil.

Quigley said because of the rain he did not see the Gibson car until it was too late to avoid a collision.

Capt. Mike Hanlon estimated total damage at $2,500-$5,000.

Three recent citations were issued by city officers.

-- At 12:05 a.m. Tuesday, William Davis, 33, Greencastle, was stopped on Berry Street by Officer Nick Eastham and cited for an expired license plate (April 2013) and expired driver's license (June 2012).

-- At 12:45 a.m. Sunday, Hannah Baker, 21, Lafayette, was stopped at Bloomington and Main streets and cited by Kyle Lee for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

Sheriff's Dept.

One recent car-deer accident was investigated by the Putnam County Sheriff's Department.

* At 2:57 a.m. Friday, William L. Woodall, 56, Jamestown, was eastbound on State Road 236 just east of County Road 675 East.

Woodall told Deputy Ronnie Campbell that he hit a deer with his 2008 Nissan Altima after it ran across the roadway and he had no time to react.

Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.
