Mable A. Horton

Mable A. Horton, 78, of Russellville, passed away at Putnam County Hospital at 12:18 a.m. Sunday, July 6, 2014.

She was born on Nov. 17, 1935 in Darlington to Lewis and Sylva Holiday Cain.

Mable was a member of the Russellville Community Church and the Pythian Sisters. She worked at R.R. Donnelley and Sons as a material handler before retirement.

She graduated from Russellville High School.

She married Donovan Horton on Jan. 3, 1958 at Russellville, and he died on Dec. 1, 2005.

Survivors include one son, William Horton of Greencastle; three daughters, Laura Horton of Russellville, Donna A. Gibson of Waveland, and Rita Beth Koshman of Russellville; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Patty (Mike) Porter of Alton, Ill., Jennetta Harris of Crawfordsville, and Marjorie Tartiff of St Joseph, Mich.; three brothers, Lewis Cain Jr. of Liston, Harold Cain of Thorntown and Ronney Cain of Maryland.

He was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be conducted at Machledt and Servies Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 10. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Russellville Cemetery.
