John David 'JD' Clampitt

John David "JD" Clampitt, 65, passed away on April 5, 2014.

He was born Nov. 28, 1948 in Greencastle.

He had been a driver or Napa Auto Parts/Blackhorse Carriers of Chicago for 44 years. He also served as the North Salem town marshal.

He served as Eel River Township Trustee from 1983 to 1989 and Hendricks County Commissioner from 1989 to 2002. He was also a volunteer fireman for Eel River Township.

He was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Barnard, the Brownsburg American Legion and the Pittsboro Freemason Lodge.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Clampitt; son James Clampitt (Stacey); daughter Leslie Berry; four granddaughters, Bayli and Addison Clampitt and Mikhaila and Laynie Berry; mother Marlene Kaye Evans; and siblings Robert Clampitt (Janet), Joey Clampitt, Pam Euratte (Doug), Barbara Page and Shirley Allen.

He was preceded in death by his father Ralph Clampitt, sister Virginia Eberwein, sister-in-law Patty Clampitt and niece Ginny Burke.

Per his request, no memorial service will be held. Contributions may be made in his name by donated a stuffed animal to the Indiana State Police or your local law enforcement agency.
