Adopt-a-Senior Day slated for Aug. 21 at Mill Pond

Tuesday, July 22, 2014

Mill Pond Health Campus, a provider of senior living and health services, invites the Greencastle community to participate in its upcoming second annual Adopt-a-Senior Day.

Many of the residents at Mill Pond don't often have visitors, and Adopt-A-Senior Day is the perfect way to brighten the residents' days by getting to meet friendly new faces.

So how does Adopt-A-Senior Day work? Mill Pond is looking for 90 community members to adopt residents and get to know a new friend on Thursday, Aug. 21. The event will kick off at 6 p.m. at Mill Pond with a fiesta celebration.

Upon registering, participants will be partnered with a senior resident. Regulations state that full names of residents may not be disclosed, but participants will learn the gender of their resident, a short description of them and a list of things they like.

Mill Pond asks that each volunteer bring his or her resident a gift worth $10 to $20, which will be given to residents during the fiesta celebration.

For questions about Adopt-a-Senior Day or to sign up, persons may contact Brooke Trissel at 720-4706 by Thursday, Aug. 14.
