City Police

Three recent property-damage accidents were investigated by Greencastle City Police officers.

* At 509 p.m. Thursday, a two-vehicle accident occurred at College Avenue and Franklin Street when an out-of-town driver unfamiliar with the intersection did not realize it was not a four-way stop.

Tama Tomey, 44, Pendleton, was westbound on Franklin Street, driving a 2012 GM Arcadia when she entered the intersection at College Avenue, reportedly pulling into the path of a southbound 2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette driven by Amanda Woods, 32, Greencastle.

Officer Albert Epple, who estimated total damage at $1,000-$2,500, said Tomey thought the College-Franklin intersection was a four-way stop.

* At 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, a minor mishap was reported on the parking lot at the Final Approach Convention and Business Center at the Putnam County Airport, 102 Ballard Lane.

Sgt. Terry Eastham reported that Erma Green, 86, Greencastle, was backing her 2013 Toyota Camry from a parking space when it struck a parked and unoccupied 2006 Ford Mustang, registered to Colin Davies, Bainbridge.

Total damage in the accident was listed at $2,500--$5,000.

* At 5:48 a.m. Wednesday, a truck-deer accident was reported on Shadowlawn Avenue at Robinwood Place.

John Paul, 61, Greencastle, was eastbound, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado on Shadowlawn in Deer Field Estates, when a deer ran into his path and he could not avoid hitting it.

Sgt. Eastham estimated damage at $1,000-$2,500.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department has responded to one medical assist and multiple dispatches.

* At 10:01 p.m. Monday, July 21, GFD provided station coverage for the Cloverdale Fire Department.

* At 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, GFD was called to a fire alarm at 303 S. Locust St., the alarm was reset.

* At 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 24, GFD was dispatched to a transformer fire in the Cloverdale area at 2010 E. CR 800.

* At 10:01 a.m. Thursday, July 24, GFD was called to Poplar Street to perform a smoke investigation.

* At 11:32 a.m. Friday, July 25, GFD was called to 1601 Hospital Dr. for an unintentional fire alarm.

* At 1:43 p.m. Friday, July 25, GFD was dispatched to 509 S. Locust St. for a fire alarm due to construction.

* At 7:01 p.m. Friday, July 25, GFD was called to 105 W. Hanna St. to investigate a fire alarm due to steam.
