Indiana Conservation Officers probe death at Cataract Falls

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the death of a 67-year-old Ohio man that occurred Sunday afternoon at Cataract Falls State Recreation Area, south of Cloverdale.

Indiana Conservation Officers advise that Paul Domonic DiBlasi, of Galloway, Ohio, died as a result of his injuries in the accident that was reported at 4:10 p.m.

DiBlasi was reportedly visiting the falls with his girlfriend Sunday at the time of the accident.

According to witness accounts, DiBlasi stumbled and fell over a cliff near the falls.

Officers report that DiBlasi fell approximately 26 feet and landed partially in the water.

The victim was removed from the water and assisted by other visitors at the falls until medical units responded.

Indiana Conservation Officers were assisted at the scene by Owen County Rescue, Cataract Fire Department and the Owen County Sheriff's Department.
