Staggers to address Monday meeting of Greencastle Defenders of Liberty

Jim Staggers will be the guest speaker Monday, Aug. 11 at the monthly meeting of the Greencastle Defenders of Liberty.

The 6:30 p.m. meeting is scheduled at the Dixie Chopper Business Center at the Putnam County Airport, 102 Ballard Lane, Greencastle.

Staggers speaks at various events across the state.

He is regularly asked to give the service on Memorial Day at Forest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle and the service on Veterans Day on the lawn of the Putnam County Courthouse.

Staggers has served in the military (U.S. Army) since 1991, when he was a student at Penn State University. He has been on tours of duty as an Army chaplain in Bosnia, Afghanistan and Kuwait.

Staggers is pastor of Sherwood Christian Church (Christian Church Disciples of Christ) in Greencastle, where he has served since 2001. He also is the chaplain at Asbury Towers.

He and his wife, Erin, have been residents of Greencastle for 14 years. They have two young sons.

The public is invited to attend Monday's meeting and all monthly programs of the Defenders of Liberty.
