Merit Board meeting set for Aug. 28

The Putnam County Sheriff's Merit Board will meet at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28.

The meeting is open to the public and will take place in the conference room at the sheriff's department.

The agenda will include a disciplinary hearing regarding charges filed by Sheriff Steve Fenwick against a merit deputy. Following the hearing, the Merit Board will adjourn and meet in executive session to discuss personnel issues.

The board will then reconvene to conduct a public hearing regarding the charges filed by

the sheriff.
