The End is Near

Tuesday, August 12, 2014
Putting down a long-awaited layer of asphalt Tuesday, a crew from Rieth-Riley Construction Co. moves closer to the end of the South Indiana Street reconstruction project in downtown Greencastle. The project is expected to put down sod in the bump-outs Wednesday, while pavers are set to be installed along the street next Monday and Tuesday. Mayor Sue Murry said the project is still on target to be opening on Aug. 21. The South Indiana streetscape is another element of the city's Stellar Grant Project. The final streetscape to be tackled is South Vine Street, which is due for a similar construction cycle in 2015. (photo by ERIC BERNSEE)

  • What a lucky community we are to have received this grant. Thanks to all the hard work everyone has done to get this grant and to get the project completed.
