Judy Kay Garver McDowell-Glover, 64, of Terre Haute, passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, in her home following a battle with cancer.

Judy was a licensed social worker and worked in that field for almost 30 years, dedicating her time to helping the less fortunate obtain training and employment. Many of her clients became life-long friends.

Judy was an active member of the Wabash Valley Optimist Club for many years, receiving numerous awards and serving as president. She coordinated many of her Garfield class reunions as well. She was insistent on keeping those connections alive.

Judy loved the Beach Boys, Christmas, Garfield High School and all things purple. She was a do-it-yourselfer around the house before that was cool.

She loved to see the world; The Caribbean and Italy were two of her favorite destinations. She also couldn't go very long without what she called a "Mickey fix," making more than 30 trips to Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

Judy was a member of Barbour Avenue Church United Methodist in Terre Haute for many years where she served on various committees and was the missions director. Judy also worked in the Sunday school, VBS ministries and was very actively involved with the Table of the Good Shepherd food pantry, a ministry that was very dear to her heart.
