Margaret 'Margie' L. (Pickett) Cooper

Margaret "Margie" L. (Pickett) Cooper, 63, of Zionsville and formerly of Brazil, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, surrounded by her family.

Margie was born in Brazil on March 20, 1951, the daughter of Norval and Mary (Thomas) Pickett. She was a 1969 graduate of Brazil High School.

Margie married Scott Cooper on Aug. 30, 1974. They moved to Zionsville in 1980. Together they owned and operated Coopers Water Conditioning and Reverse Osmosis Superstore in Zionsville. She had also owned Hometowne Greetings Welcoming Service in Zionsville.

Margie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson Collin. She also enjoyed cross stitching, arts and crafts and socializing on Facebook. Margie organized field trips for friends to Grabill, Indiana's Amish community, and other sites. She also enjoyed organizing class of '69 luncheons with her high school classmates.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Kenneth R. Pickett.

Survivors include her husband Scott of Zionsville; two sons, Craig Cooper and wife Karen of Zionsville and Carson Cooper and wife Melissa of Carmel; and grandson Collin Cooper, as well as many friends and extended family members.

Services will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave., Brazil at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20 with Michael Goss officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday.
