Soul Harvest Church plans expansion project

CLOVERDALE -- Soul Harvest Church has announced plans to expand its building.

Soul Harvest began 12 years ago with only one family in a hotel conference room. Since that time the congregation has grown to more than 400 people.

They outgrew a one-room country church near Belle Union and in 2010 converted a repossessed vacant building at 14 Crosswinds Dr. in Cloverdale into a church. No sooner than they were in their new building, then they had to begin remodeling to accommodate growth.

The next phase of growth will include a sanctuary, additional classrooms, café and expanded parking. The new plans also include a remodel of the current facilities to accommodate growth in the youth, children's and early childhood development ministries.

Soul Harvest is active in the community, hosting annual events for children such as vacation Bible school, Fallfest and partnering with the Cloverdale United Methodist Church to provide school supplies for children needing financial assistance. Other outreaches include nursing home ministry, food pantry, the Light of the World Christmas Light Display and hosting national level pastors' conferences.

This fall, Encounter Youth Group will be taking a mission trip to Mexico, and in January a men's work team is traveling to the Amazon Forest in Brazil to build a church. The new building in Cloverdale will help facilitate many of these outreaches and the growth that results from them.

To pay for the project, the church is entering a major funds campaign. The campaign will officially begin with a presentation to the church on Sunday, Sept. 7 in the 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. services. Dr. Robert S. Hallett is the featured speaker.

Hallett is the founder and president of TLC Ministries Inc., of New Castle, and will be leading the Scriptural Funding Campaign.

Pastor Matt Nichols invites all members and friends of Soul Harvest Church to participate in the Campaign Launch Services on Sept. 7, and in each phase of the campaign as it leads up to their church-wide celebration event scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 7.
