Football teams struggle in week two

Late starts and playing from behind were the order of the night, as Putnam County high school football teams struggled in week two.

Hosting Tri-West, South Putnam was the only team to start at its scheduled 7 p.m. time. However, the Eagles struggled against a high-powered Bruin attack, falling 59-0.

Greencastle started its night more than an hour late at West Vigo, but was able to hang with the Vikings throughout the evening. Six turnovers, all in Viking territory, did the Tiger Cubs in, as they fell 12-7.

In Cloverdale, the Clovers looked to get off to a 2-0 start with a win over Clinton Central. The Clovers came up short against the Bulldogs, 26-18.

North Putnam's trip to Southmont started late, with kickoff coming well after 8 p.m. The Mounties got the better of the Cougars, 28-14.
