Margaret M. Southwood

Margaret M. Southwood, 92, of Indianapolis, passed away Aug. 29, 2014.

She was born on June 29, 1922 in Fillmore to Glenn and Iva Hammond, and grew up in Greencastle.

Margaret graduated from Indiana Business College.

She worked for Indiana Lumberman's Insurance, Ellis Trucking Co. and Winona Hospital as a secretary/receptionist.

Margaret was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for more than 60 years.

She was very family oriented, she spent her life being a devoted mother, loving grandmother and simply a great friend to all, and she will be greatly missed.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, M. Elaine Southwood; granddaughter Elizabeth "Liza" Southwood -- Flynn (Wyman) Flynn; sisters Mary Craig and Charlotte (James) Gram; brother Hershel Hammond; and many nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family request you give a hug, display a smile or simply do a good deed for someone in honor of Margaret's memory. Arrangements are being handled by Flanner and Buchanan--Geist, Indianapolis.
