Jo Ann Pickett, 54, of Plainfield, died peacefully at her home, surrounded by family on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014.

Jo Ann was employed by the State of Indiana for 33 years. Her career included positions at the Indiana State Board of Accounts, Department of Animal Health and most recently as the financial manager at the Indiana Public Defender Council.

Jo Ann was a member of the Danville American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, serving as secretary-treasurer in the years immediately preceding her death.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by father, Robert, in 1987 and mother Janet in 2007.

She is survived by her two sisters, Linda Williamson of Greencastle, and Vicki (Bruce) Hajdu of Thornton, Colo.; her two brothers, Rick Pickett of Greencastle, and James Russell (Robin) Pickett of Cloverdale.

Additional survivors include nieces Deanna Jo Williamson of Greencastle, Dara Lynn (Cory) Robinson of Greencastle, Janetta Robinson of Avon, Corey Pickett of San Diego, and Jessica Pickett Edge (Justin) of Wilton, N.Y., and nephews Chris Edwards of Greencastle, Bruce Hajdu Jr., Fort Collins, Colo., Jon Hajdu, Fort Collins, Colo., Ron Kowalski, Richmond, Va., and Mike Kowalski, Clovis, Calif.

Other surviving relatives include her aunt, Linda Lee Peck, of Indianapolis; cousins Brenda Gray of Alabama, Eddie Roush, Brian Roush and Angela Roush, all of Indianapolis; and great-nephews Marcus, Brady and Craig Robinson and Corbin and Caleb Edwards.

In accordance with Jo Ann's wishes, private family services were conducted, followed by cremation.

Surviving family members request that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
