Monday, September 15, 2014

The Putnam County Sheriff's Department has identified the woman who was seen walking on County Road 200 North near County Road 625 East near Fillmore earlier this morning as a Heritage Lake resident originally from Haiti.

Cpl. Josh Boller was dispatched to the scene at 12:37 p.m. after getting a call from a passerby, which advised she had seen the woman on that road since 9:30 a.m. Monday.

A second report added that the woman had been seen on earlier in the day at approximately 7:45 a.m. near Heritage Drive around Emergency Route 50 at Heritage Lake.

"She does not speak English," Boller added. "She seemed confused when I approached her and continued to keep walking until I contacted dispatch for an ambulance."

As of 8:30 p.m., Putnam County Dispatch had received a call from what is said to be the womans son. Although a name was not released, it was noted that the woman has dementia.

  • The family really should watch her better. They were really lucky to get her back, next time may not be as luck.

So glad she is or will be home safe soon,

  • Is it really necessary to include a picture of this woman in her hospital bed?

  • Yes Ben I think it was nessary to get a photo out there so anyone might be able to tell if they knew her. I for one am glad that someone did. My friend is the one that called in about her and we were worried about her . Very very glad her family found her.

  • KATE .. the key word here is "in her hospital bed". They could have taken a photo of her face instead of the one they took. There is such a thing as discretion.
