GCC presents Courageous Grandparenting seminar

Friday, September 19, 2014

Greencastle Christian Church will be hosting a seminar for grandparents on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. This is for grandparents committed to leaving an unshakable faith and a lasting legacy for the next generations.

Cavin Harper, Executive Director of Courageous Grandparenting, will be presenting five applicable sessions. He has written a book titled "Courageous Grandparenting - An Unshakable Faith in a Broken World."

More information is available at www.christiangrandparenting.net.

Session 1 & 2 - Not On Our Watch

We have a problem! There is a serious 'structural' damage that cannot be ignored. It is rooted in a spiritual collapse that has put the hearts, minds and souls of our grandchildren at risk. We cannot afford to be 'good' grandparents. We live in a day where courageous, intentional grandparents are willing to fight for their hearts. How do we respond? Key Biblical passages will be applied to help nurture and mentor the next generation.

Session 3 - Discover the Power of Spoken Blessing

What can we do to build a tradition of legacy and blessing for our families in our time?

Session 4 - Untangling the Technology Web

How do we cope with technology and the generation gap that seems to widen with the rapid advances?

Session 5 - Take the Hill Country

One of the most valuable gifts you can leave your children and their children is a well-lived legacy that makes much of Christ. It is a life that proves that God is faithful and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him.

Cost of the seminar is $20 for individuals and $35 for couples. Included in the cost is lunch and a copy of Cavin's book. Registration can be made by calling the church office at 653-5816.

An additional session just for grandfathers will be held on Sunday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. This event is free.

Both events will take place in the Greencastle Christian Church Worship Center at 620 Primrose Lane. For more information, call the church at 653-5816.
