Roberta 'Bert' Ellen Gaston

Roberta (Bert) Ellen Gaston, 81, of Plainfield, passed away early Wednesday morning, Sept. 17, 2014 at Wellbrooke of Avon.

Born Dec. 3, 1932 in Bainbridge, she was the daughter of Chester Anderson and Susan (Osborne) Anderson.

She married Louis Gaston, and he preceded her.

Roberta had worked as a beautician and a homemaker.

She was an avid golfer and former president of the Ladybugs Golf Club. Her hobbies included playing nickels and crafts.

She was a member of the Plainfield Christian Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Lynn Shelton and husband Michael, Lafayette, and Sherene Ellen Skinner and husband Ric, Clayton; a son, David L. Gaston and wife Kathy, Coatesville; eight grandchildren, Jason Shelton, Jessica Shelton, Nic Skinner, Deric Skinner, Brandon Gaston, Mitchell Gaston, Logan Gaston and Reece Gaston; six great-grandchildren; sisters Doris Tomey, Greenwood , Deloris Abell, Fortville, and Mildred Bailey, Cloverdale; brothers Donald Anderson, Eustis, Fla., and Larry Anderson, Indianapolis; brother-in-law Duane Gaston, Greencastle; and many nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband and brothers Chester Jr. and Gordon Anderson preceded her in death.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Plainfield Christian Church.

Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church with Pastor Steve White officiating.

Burial will follow at the Coatesville Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Bousley-Hays Funeral Home, Coatesville.
