Robert H. Gordon

It is with deep sadness that the death of Robert H. Gordon, 78, of Barnard, who passed on Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, is announced.

Bob was born May 18, 1936 to Jesse "Bill" Gordon and Elsie Gordon.

He loved farming and found a way to continue that while working full time and retiring from IBM Corp.

He spent much of his childhood with Paul and Ina Mae Page, helping them on their farm.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; son and daughter-in-law Bill and Brenda Gordon; daughter Lori Hughes; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Scot McClara; grandchildren Chris, Tyler, Justin, Christa Amber, Jesse and Josie; great-grandchildren Lucas, Marissa, Brittany, Nicolle and Miah; and sisters Carrie, Margaret, Betty and Joan.

Family and friends will gather 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25 at Porter Funeral Home, North Salem.

Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26 at the funeral home with Pastor Rodger Ward officiating.

Bob will be laid to rest in the Barnard Cemetery on County Road 825 East, north of Barnard.
