Defenders of Liberty to hear Chase Downham Monday night

Chase Downham, regional director of Americans for Prosperity -- one of the nation's leading conservative grassroots organizations -- will be the guest speaker at the Greencastle Defenders of Liberty meeting Monday, Oct. 13.

The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Dixie Chopper Business Center at Putnam County Airport, 102 Ballard Lane, Greencastle.

Chase started with the Americans for Prosperity (AFP), in 2011 helping to launch the Indiana chapter as state director. He now works with a region of 10 states, including Indiana, to advance freedom and prosperity for millions of Americans. The AFP mission is focused on limited government and free market principles.

A native of Muncie, Chase graduated with high distinction from Indiana University's School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA), earning a degree in public affairs with a concentration in policy analysis.

His past experience includes work for Indiana Congressman Mike Pence as well as two congressional campaigns in Colorado. He lives in Indianapolis with his wife and young son.

Monday's event marks the end of five years the Greencastle Defenders of Liberty group has met on the second Monday of every month. The local grassroots organization will celebrate its fifth anniversary at the Nov. 10 meeting.

The public is invited to attend all monthly meetings of the group.
