GHS boys' soccer season ends in OT
BROWNSBURG -- The exuberant season for the Greencastle boys' soccer team ended in the Bethesda Christian Sectional to Cascade in an overtime thriller.
Though the team went down 3-2 it played its season and saw great improvement with a new coach.
"Overall I thought the season went really well," GHS Cody Watson said. "We were in a groove from the first game until the last game. This season was a growing opportunity. It was a great thing for our program. "
The Tiger Cubs went 7-7-1 in a season that started with a 4-0 win at Monrovia and included a 3-0 win against North Putnam and a 9-0 whomping against Owen Valley.
"I think we were really strong overall," Watson said. "I really think it's something we'll be able to continue."
The Tiger Cub team sported a tactical senior class that practically lined up to take shots on goal. Though they are losing some big names, the underclassmen on the team have been making noise since the offseason.
"It's been a great opportunity," Watson said. "This really is a great group of guys, I look forward to what we can do next season."
