Frances Moore Rains

Loving mother and grandmother Frances (Moore) Rains, 93, of Greencastle, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014.

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."

Frances was born May 31, 1921 in Indianapolis to Cecil and Ruth Moore.

She married Charles W. Rains on March 19, 1942, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 2009.

She served in the ministry with her husband for 66 years in evangelism and at various churches in Greencastle, Cloverdale and Indianapolis. During that time she led youth groups, and headed a women's ministry.

She is survived by her children, Sandra Boswell (Larry) of Mooresville, Vicki Jones (Robert) of Greencastle and Rita Wylie (Gary) of Cape Coral, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother Edwin Moore (Shirley) of Kokomo; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8 with services to follow at 2 p.m. at West Union Friends Church, 2038 W. State Road 42, Monrovia, with Pastor Jay Nicoson officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Simple Cremations and Burials.
