South Putnam Youth Football win SuperBowl at three levels

The South Putnam Youth Football League has wrapped up a great season. The Rookies division and Minors division went undefeated. The Majors were also very strong only losing two regular season games. They wrapped up their season in the best possible way by going on to win the Superbowl.

Amid a strong partnership with the South Putnam Football team, led by coach Nathan Aker the youth teams all played against the Eagles early in the season. The parent were very supportive and the event had a huge turnout of supporters for both the youth teams and the Eagles.

All three teams won at Greencastle on Saturday, Oct. 11 to make it to the Superbowl, which hasn't occurred in recent memory.

The Rookies beat an undefeated Cloverdale team 14-0 to advance to the Superbowl, then beat Cascade Blue 24-7. The Minors beat Cascade White 26-0 and then advanced to beat Cloverdale 33-6. Majors beat Cascade Black 14-6 and then beat Monrovia in a 16-14 thriller for the championship.

The success of the youth teams has Putnam County buzzing and looking forward to seeing what the youngsters will do when they take Mark Wildman field as high schoolers.
