Scott B. 'Scottie' Hoover

Scott B. "Scottie" Hoover, 30, of Greencastle, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014.

He was born on Jan. 19, 1984 in Greencastle to Scott N. Hoover and Patricia M. "Patti" Gorham Hoover.

Scottie was a 2002 graduate of Greencastle High School and was employed with his father in the family business, Hoover Painting.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas Lee Gorham and Ben and Marilyn Hoover; and two uncles, Tom Gorham and Terry Gorham.

Surviving are his companion Rachel Billings and children, Eli, Riely and his son Maddox; his parents Scott and Patti Hoover of Greencastle; sister Niki Milburn and husband Nate of Atlanta, Ga.; his maternal grandmother, Garnett Gorham; two nephews, Miles Milburn and Maguire Milburn; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will celebrate Scottie's Life on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastor Bobby Hopper officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 p.m. until time of services.

The family takes comfort in knowing that Scottie was able to give the gift of life through organ donation.

Memorials in Scottie's memory may be shared with Rachel and the boys. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
