Area 30 Robotics

Tuesday, October 21, 2014

The Area 30 Career Center Robotics Club recently competed at Hoosier Hills Career Center in Bloomington in a Vex Robotics event and took first place. Among the winners on the Area 30 team were Thomas Hunt (above, left) and Mitchell Griffen who designed, built and programmed their VEX robots with the help of the Robotics Club team members for the event called "Raise Some Racquet." The objective of the event is to score as many racquet balls into the different scoring zones within two and a half minutes. The first 30 seconds of the event is "autonomous," which simply means to act without human intervention where the robots were programmed to score by themselves. The remaining two minutes of the event, the students operate the robot remotely.
