He noted that while in the eastbound lane, he attempted to get his 2013 Kenworth semi-truck as far as he could against the edge of the roadway to avoid a collision with a "chip box" owned by Milestone Contractors. However, while attempting to pass the machinery, a collision occurred with Adam C. Kennedy, 34, Lafayette who was on the 2000 Etnyre chip box.

Kennedy advised Boller that he was on the chip box working on State Road 240 in the westbound lane of travel and believed to be on his side of the roadway, but made a collision with Hendrick while he attempted to pass.

Helmer noted that the tire marks on the grass shoulder indicated that the vehicle tires were rolling and not locked up as the vehicle traveled straight off the roadway and into some trees, traveling 70 feet before coming to rest.

Martin complained of rib/chest pain and was transported to Hendricks Regional Health by PMH Ambulance.
