PCPL, Park Dept. to mark Day of the Dead Nov. 1

Putnam County Public Library and Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department will celebrate Dia de los Muertos ("The Day of the Dead") on Saturday, Nov. 1 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the library.

In partnership with DePauw's Bonner Scholar program, it will detail how Halloween is celebrated in other parts of the world.

Crafts include making piņatas, sugar skulls and other traditional decorations while getting a taste of "Day of the Dead bread."

The instructor will be Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department intern and DePauw University student Maribel Diaz.

The program is free and open to the public.
