Frank W. Bowles, 78, of Greencastle, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014.

He was born on Feb. 8, 1936 in Indianapolis to Sam Bowles and Velva Rose Robinson Bowles.

Frank served his country in the U.S. Army for 32 years, including three tours of duty in Vietnam.

He was president of the Indiana Country Music Association which sponsored benefits for Children's Organ Donor Association and was active in Toys for Tots.

Frank loved attending auctions, where he bought and sold goods, and was a well-known wholesaler.

Frank cherished spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sharon Ann Bowles, whom he married on May 6, 1958; two brothers, Norman Bowles and Bill Bowles; and a sister, Juanita Rankin.

He is survived by his significant other, Kitty Wentland; children Debbie (Tom) Lehman of Bruceville, Freida Crowe of Washington, Tony (Jeann) Bowles of Brazil, Phillip (Debbie) Bowles of Bridgeton, Angela (Brian) Letourneau of Brazil, and Renita (George) Scott of Putnamville,; two sisters, Mildred (Dale) Larrison of Lakeland, Fla., and Shirley (Wayne) Lynn of Brownsburg; a brother, Danny (Carol) Bowles of Indianapolis; his mother-in-law, Vera Marshall of Greencastle; and 59 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle. Interment with military honors will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
